Thomson Medical Centre

On 22 May, Thomson Medical Centre's share price was at S$0.65. With EPS (1H 08) at 1.95, and taking that 2H 08 will bring about the same EPS, the total forecasted EPS will be S$0.039. This brings PE of 16.6. NAV of TMC is S$0.3268. PE is greater than 10.

THOMSON Medical Centre said that it has signed a subscription option agreement to take up a 25 per cent stake in a hospital in Vietnam that it helped plan.

This is Thomson’s First Major Foray into Regional Hospital Consultancy. Thomson Medical Centre Ltd, through Thomson International, secured its first major regional hospital consultancy and management project as the Hospital Project and Management Consultant for the proposed 260-bed Hanh Phuc International Women and Children Hospital (“Hanh Phuc Hospital”) in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam.

Hanh Phuc Hospital, the first purpose-designed private hospital for women and children in Vietnam, is targeted to commence operation in 2009. Hanh Phuc Hospital is being developed by Hanh Phuc International Women & Children Hospital Joint Stock Company (“Hanh Phuc JSC”).

Thomson International will provide management services which include operation management, financial management, marketing and business strategies. The Hospital Management Agreement will take effect from the date Hanh Phuc International Women and Children Hospital is ready for operation.

The new Hanh Phuc Hospital, located in one of the country’s most affluent provinces, will have a 260-bed capacity and 35 medical suites dedicated to the provision of quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatric services. Upon completion in 2009, the private hospital will be one of Vietnam’s most advanced specialty hospitals for women and children healthcare services.
