Alternative Investments

Alternative investments refer to the asset classes that fall outside of the traditional definitions of stocks and bonds. This includes the following:
  • Mutual funds
  • Exchange Traded Funds
  • Real Estate
  • Venture Capital
  • Hedge funds
  • Closely held companies
  • Distressed securities
  • Commodities
I remember reading a book from Jim Rogers on Hot Commodities slightly before the commodity boom. He basically was bullish about commodities and said that the commodity boom will likely last for a few years. He also advised that commodity-linked equity investments might not provide the best exposure to the commodity boom.

How can we invest in commodities in Singapore?
